Nate Young, Lead Pastor

Pastor Nate Young joined the staff of CBC in the fall of 2011 as executive pastor. He was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa. While attending Baptist Bible College, Pastor Nate met his wife Kim and they were married in 2000. After completing his undergraduate degree, Pastor Nate graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling and and a Master of Divinity degree from Baptist Bible Theological Seminary. Pastor Nate & and his wife Kim have four children: Logan, Sadie, Owen, and Nora.

 

  • Peter Sennert

    ELDER

    Elder Peter came to CrossBridge in the summer of 2006, after being led to the Lord by his brother. Peter has faithfully served in the office of Deacon since 2010, and continues to serve the church as the Building Manager and Treasurer. Elder Peter leads several ministries and Bible studies for the men of the church. He was congressionally ordained as an Elder in 2024, and continues to give his upmost for His highest.

    Peter and his wife, Maryellen, have been married over 40 years and have four grown children. Peter’s hobbies are many and diverse but include the study of Scripture, woodworking, and hunting.

  • Robert Takseraas

    ELDER

    Elder Rob Takseraas is a native Long-Islander who has been attending CrossBridge Church since 1989, at the invitation of a neighborhood friend. Throughout his time at CrossBridge, Rob has served the church in several capacities, including short-term mission trips, teaching both children’s and adult classes, and as a deacon.

    Outside of serving the church, Rob is a math teacher and wrestling coach.

    Rob married his wife Kate in 2012 and, together, they oversee the Discipleship Kids ministry.  Rob and Kate have four sons: Jackson, Colton, Dalton, and Gibson.

  • Akbar Vanterpool

    DEACON

    Deacon Akbar Vanterpool became a member of Long Island Baptist Church, precursor to Crossbridge Church, in 2003, and has been a Deacon since 2013.

    He was raised in Queens, NY, by parents who instilled in him a strong value system which has allowed him to navigate the tumultuous terrain of this world and his dependence on his faith in Christ.

    Akbar works for Standard & Poor’s Corporate Finance division as Global Head of Contingent Labor.

    He has been married to his wife, Akua, since September 2005, and they have 4 wonderful children: Olivia, Gabrielle, Sophia, and Isaiah who have been a pleasure to grow both in stature and faith.

  • John Antinora

    DEACON

    Deacon John came to faith in Christ later in life. In 2014, he was convicted by the Holy Spirit to follow Christ. He has served as a deacon at CrossBridge Church. Born and raised in New Jersey, he moved to Long Island in 1991, after meeting his wife, Kelli at work. Deacon John has always felt a need to serve others and the Lord.

    As a deacon, John is known for his commitment to serving the congregation. Whether it’s leading a Bible study, playing with the Praise Team, or shoveling snow, John’s faithfulness and humility is apparent in all that he does.

    In addition to his role at the church, John is a devoted husband to his wife, Kelli, and a loving father to their two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading Scripture, and assisting church family with DIY.

  • Brian Broderick

    DEACON

    Deacon Brian Broderick has been a member of CBC since 2016, and a deacon since 2019. He was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. He met his wife, Laurie, on a blind date in 1981, and they were married in 1983.

    In February 2021, Brian received his Certification in Biblical Counseling from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.

    Brian and his wife, Laurie, have two adult children, Conor and Haley.

  • Carlos Urquilla

    DEACON

    Deacon Carlos was born and raised on Long Island, NY. He began attending Crossbridge in 2011, and was baptized there in 2013. Deacon Carlos serves the church in the Worship Arts Ministry and has been serving as a deacon since 2019.

    Deacon Carlos married his wife Kristen in 2015, and together have 2 beautiful children.

  • David Takseraas

    DEACON

    Deacon Dave has been attending CBC for over thirty years. He became a Deacon in 2023, and serves in the Discipleship Kids ministry.

    Dave has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Math Education from Hofstra University. He is a math teacher and a wrestling coach.

    He married his wife, Julie, in 2012, and they have 2 children: Johanna and Griffin.

  • Juan Carlos Pinilla

    DEACON

    Deacon Juan Carlos was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia in 1964. He moved to New York City in late September 1983. He met his wife Adriana at a retreat. Juan Carlos has worked for the City of New York Health and Hospitals for 32 years. He joined CBC in January 2018 and has faithfully served CrossBridge since then. He was installed into the office of Deacon in 2024.

    Juan Carlos and his wife, Adriana, have seven children together: Juan Carlos, Carolina, Juliana, Andres, Sarah, Isabella, and Mariana.
