18. The Game Plan

Luke 4:1-13

Most people would agree that in order to succeed in life we must have a plan. Want to be a doctor?  You've got to have a plan. You can't just "wing it”. You want to be a winning team? You've got to have a game plan. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD..." The Hebrew word for "plans" means "design, or a series of steps to be carried out."  It carries the idea of a blueprint, which is a detailed plan with a specific outcome. As we continue our study in Luke we're learning more about Jesus Christ and His public  ministry. Scripture tells us that God has a "Game Plan" and it will bring about God's desired outcome.

Today our text is a narrative that tells us of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness. Do you believe God sent His Son into the wilderness without a "game plan"?  Absolutely not!  Every time Satan tried to tempt Jesus he was met with Scripture. He is our example to follow. Whatever we face today can be faced head-on with the Word of God. Let's learn more today as we study Luke 4:1-13.
