23. Our Compassionate Jesus
Luke 5:12-16
Our study in the book of Luke the past couple of weeks (by Pastor Nate and Pastor Matt) have shown us that Jesus is Awesome and Jesus is God. Just last Sunday Matt spoke about the fishermen that left everything behind to follow Christ. They were no longer fishermen but Fishers-of-Men. They became disciples of Jesus Christ. They were beginning the ministry of evangelism.
In our text today we'll see Jesus as compassionate, powerful, and prayerful. He's showing us what it means to evangelize by being fishers of men. In His brief ministry on earth He proclaimed good news to the poor, set the captives free, gave sight to the blind, and set free the oppressed (Luke 4:18). In our study today we'll see Jesus reaching out to touch a man who was untouchable by anyone else. This is true evangelism at work. Let's look together at Luke 5:12-16.
