2. God the Righteous
Romans 3:21-26
Today, we'll continue our series "What is the Gospel?" Last week, we looked at "Man, the Sinner". We know that humanity is in trouble. Every one of us is a sinner and in need of being saved from God's judgment. Romans 3:10 tells us that there is "none righteous, no, not one.” If we just stopped there all would be hopeless. But today we'll see that God is righteous and has provided a solution to our hopelessness. That solution is found in the Person of Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection. Our righteous God has dealt with our unrighteousness through the work of His Son, Jesus Christ. Through personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ we become righteous. Our text today tells us in Romans 3:26, "It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."
