Who is this conference for? Why should I go?

“You who are spiritual, restore...” (Galatians 6:1)
“Equip the saints for the work of the ministry....” (Ephesians 4:12)
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness...” (2 Peter 1:3)
“That the man of God may be complete...” (2 Timothy 3:16)

Each of us “counsel” people whether we realize it or not. Every word we speak, every action we perform, is counsel of some kind. As a believer in Jesus Christ, and one who possesses a personal relationship with Him, we are called to restore and counsel others for the purpose of bringing glory to God (“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31). This conference is for any and all believers. It will help equip you to counsel others with a God-centered, Bible-specific solution.

There is a place to state your dietary needs on the website during registration.

How old do you have to be to attend?

18 and above. Teen registrants must be ages 16-17 and accompanied by an attending parent/guardian.

Will there be childcare provided?

Since CrossBridge's entire church family is deeply involved in the ministry of the Biblical Counseling Training Conference, CrossBridge is unable to provide infant or childcare services. Out of respect for the other attendees, we ask that you not bring children or infants to the conference.

Can a couple register one person and split the attendance of the conference?

We highly recommend both attend if at all possible. However, you are only able to register one person for the cost. We are unable to facilitate splitting the cost and registration.

What is the schedule of the tracks?

This conference will be offering Track 1 & 2 of the Biblical Counseling Training. If you desire to attend more tracks in the future, we strongly encourage you to take Track 1 before taking the others. The foundation track provides the basic principles and subject matter of Christ-Centered Biblical Counseling.

Track 1 lays the foundation of biblical counseling principles and practices. Because its focus is on the definition of biblical counseling, how to do biblical counseling, and the most common counseling subjects, such as marriage and family matters, this track is taken first. This track is required for ACBC certification.

Topics include:

  • Key elements of biblical counseling
  • What makes biblical counseling biblical
  • Comparison of counseling philosophies
  • Doctrine of spiritual growth
  • Marriage roles and parenting
  • Rules of communication
  • Depression
  • Forgiveness
  • Anger, fear, and worry
  • Video case observation

Track 2 - Adding the Structure I

Track 2 (and later Track 3) add the structure to the foundation built in Track 1. Both tracks cover a wide range of subjects and concerns. Tracks 2 and 3 build on Track 1 to further develop the all-important counseling framework.

Topics include:

  • Eating disorders
  • Chemical imbalances, genetics, and hormones
  • Freedom from life-dominating sin
  • Pornography
  • Handling problem people within the church
  • Superiority of Bible answers
  • Building spiritual maturity in others
  • Biblical priorities
  • Video case observation

Daily schedule TBA

Will we be offering more tracks in the future?

We desire for this to be an annual conference and to offer as many tracks each year as we are able to facilitate.
